  • Card #7 – Base Card (no serial number)

2614 Cases produced (estimate).

  • in 10 cases, I pulled 10 x Red /25 (1 per case), 29 x Green /75 (2.9 per case), 36 x Grey /106 (3.6 per case), and 81 x Blue /209 (8.1 per case).
  • the base checklist is 1-100, that means 2500 red, 7500 green, 10600 grey, and 20900 blue base parallels exist in the world.
  • if  my pull rate from 10 cases is average, then: Red (2500/1 per case = 2500 cases), Green (7500/2.9 per case = 2586 cases), Grey (10600/3.6 = 2944 cases), Blue (20900/8.1 = 2580 cases)
  • average out the numbers above: 2500+2586+2944+2580 = 10610/4 = 2652.5 cases produced.

In 10 cases, I had no missing hits, every pack had 7 cards in it. Topps delivered on it’s presell sheet promise. (listed at the bottom)

This product is all about the Rookies. Offensive Rookies. There are no veteran/star auto’s in the product. There are some nice veteran/star #’d parallels though. This product is filled with offensive RC’s that goes deep into the draft. RB’s, QB’s, WR’s, these offensive RC’s are in this product even though many of them were picked in the 3rd, 4th, even 5th and 6th rounds. This means that some defensive players chosen higher in the draft are passed over in this product.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The top draft picks are VERY HARD TO FIND in this product. Out of 10 cases I did not pull any auto’s of Cam Newton, Jake Locker, Julio Jones, A.J. Green, Mark Ingram or Christian Ponder. In fact, there is something fishy going on with the Rookie Autograph checklist. The regular base RC auto cards are all a brownish background color. The parallels are in blue /150, grey /99, green /50, red /25 and a silver /25, and then the platinum 1/1′s. Based on eBay listings as of 8/13, I don’t see any brownish base RC auto’s of Newton, Locker, Ingram, Ponder, Jones and A.J. Green. Those top draft pick RC’s only have auto’s in the parallels of green or red. So the base checklist should NOT include those RC’s. That is not very cool in my opinion. Sure, those SP RC’s will command a premium, but for set collectors it will be impossible to build the set, because the true RC base auto’s don’t exist for those players. And, more importantly, Topps’ checklist is wrong.

Some cards come out of the packs with edge/corner chipping. The RC on card auto’s are especially prone to this problem. But as you can see from the scans above, many cards come out looking just fine, no worse than other high end products like Exquisite, UD Black, or Five Star.

The patches are AMAZING. Sure they are all event worn, and probably worn for less than a minute. But still, the patches are AMAZING!

Cards are amazing looking… see for yourself below: AP base, Arian Foster red parallel, DeMarco Murray RC auto, Colin Kaepernick Green auto /50, Taiwan Jones Silver auto /25, Cam Newton Jumbo Jersey, Julio Jones Patch, Edmond Gates Jumbo Patch (wow!), Jon Baldwin RC Patch Auto, Colin Kaepernick red RC Patch auto….
